Red Velvet Cake

So.... I hesitantly give away my Red Velvet Cake recipe. It's taken a while to change up and improve, but it's almost Valentine's Day. So here it is:
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • *make sure buttermilk and eggs are at room temp*
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 oz. red dye
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • And if you're mama or Nicole, remember the secret ingredient : )
Now cupcakes are of course my preference. So fill your cupcake liners half full, Bake at 350* for 15 minutes. Then generously, and I mean generously, frost with cream cheese frosting.
